My Favourite Artist:
A Tribute Magazine
The brief for this project was to create a magazine about one of my favourite artists, a tribute to someone whose work I truly love and connect with.
There were no specific design style requirements. Instead, the style was meant to reflect the artist themselves. The goal was that, upon picking up the magazine, a reader would instantly get a sense of who it was about.
The pages needed to flow smoothly, keeping the reader engaged and excited to turn each page. The design aimed to capture the spirit of the artist while creating an enjoyable and immersive reading experience.
My Favourite Artist - RM
I chose Kim Nam Joon - professionally known as RM - as my favourite artist. His music blends raw emotion with imperfection, always reminding us to be human first, before making art. I wanted the magazine to reflect that same feeling. The design uses bold typography and rough, expressive layouts to capture that rawness, while balancing it with a clean, modern body copy typeface to keep things grounded and readable.
