Bike-sharing Branding
This project aimed at developing a branding for a bike-sharing service for my hometown. The branding should have a subtle link to my hometown via culture, symbols, colours or history. It also should be attractive to all potential users: locals, visitors & tourists. And lastly I needed to come up with a fitting name for this bike-sharing brand.

KYIE
I come from Kyiv Ukraine. A chestnut is considered an unofficial symbol of Kyiv. There are allies upon allies of chestnut trees and when spring rolls around Kyiv is filled with chestnut bloom. So from this element I took the colours and the shape of the chestnut nut as my logo.
The second, and this time official, symbol of Kyiv is the person who Kyiv was named after. His name was Kyi. So from here I came up with the name that comes from conjugation of the calling form of Kyi’s name - Kyie. This both references the name of the city and the name of its founder.
